About Pink Ribbon Breakfast
Pink Ribbon Breakfast is an annual nation-wide fundraising initiative of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Individuals can register to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation by hosting an event—be it breakfast, morning tea or some other type of get-together. Events are typically held in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign has been running for over 10 years with loyal hosts as well as a stream of new hosts each year. Many of our returned hosts have held Pink Ribbon events for 8+ years. In 2011, over 3,000 individuals registered to host a Pink Ribbon Breakfast event. Events were held all over the country with approximately 200,000 individuals attending a breakfast event.
Many of our returned hosts have held Pink Ribbon events for 8+ years.
You can help the National Breast Cancer Foundation by hosting your own Pink Ribbon Breakfast in 2012. Hosting an event is a great way to give back as well as reconnect with friends, family and your community.
As part of a new initiative with the campaign this year, we are making it even easier to participate in this campaign. If you do not think you will be able to host an event this year, we invite you to visit your favourite café and ask them to support the Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign by becoming a Pink Ribbon Café. Thank you for your support!
My hope is that breast cancer will become a thing of the past. But until we find a cure, I hope that there will be treatments available for people living with breast cancer that will mean a better quality of life for them. My greatest hope is that breast cancer will no longer equate with death for any person diagnosed.
